Today I would like to introduce you to a product that I use myself and have been very satisfied with for the last year. Most of us don’t know how valuable the data on our hard disks is until we lose it and can’t get it back. JungleDisk Desktop is a personal backup solution that uploads the files on your disk to the Amazon S3 storage service and even enables you to recover files you deleted or changed for an amount of time you can specify. It’s all very straightforward – sign up for the service, install the client, tell it which files and folders to back up and when the backup should run. The client takes care of the rest and after the initial upload, which may take a few days, only the files that have changed or been added will be uploaded, saving your internet bandwidth for the more important things. And if you ever need to get a file or folder back, it’s just a few clicks and the program will start downloading them for you. Even if you need to reinstall your operating system, just install the client again afterwards and tell it to download all your documents, it’s really easy. JungeDisk Desktop now comes with 5GB free storage included in the US$3/month subscription (available worldwide), which should be sufficient for the average user. And if you need more space, it’s only 15 Cents per Gigabyte/month. It may be better to spend a little now than to spend a lot when it’s too late… if you don’t like it, there’s even a 30-day money back guarantee.

Blockbuster offers a 14-day free trial period on their “Blockbuster by mail” and “Total access” products. You can choose if you want to be able to have access to one, two or three DVDs or BluRay disks (at no extra charge) at a time. You can return the disks free of charge by mail – and with the “Total access” package, you can even exchange the disks in your nearest Blockbuster store up to five times. Great if you just can’t wait for the mail.

The link has now been removed, as Blockbuster is stopping this program on March 6.
